The Maximum Ride Series is about a group of five kids that have been gentically altered so that they can fly. Bird DNA was injected into their human DNA so they are essentially half human half bird. The people that did this to them are scientists and their lab is called the School. The School has created another monster: half human half wolf (werewolves). They're called Erasers and their job is to do whatever the scientists want them to do. The five kids escaped from the School and are on the run. The School has also experimented with other half human half animal beings.
