Lightening padded over to Ravenkit and licked the kit's head until he stopped crying. Then picked the kit up and laid him gently on his paws. She held him until she was sure he could stand by himself.

Ravenkit squeaked in surprise. The shock of being able to stand made him lose his balance and toppled over again.
